Thought for the Day
What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. -Albert Pike
The UCC National Youth Event, held every four years, provides an opportunity for over 3000 youth (ages 13 to 18) to gather for worship, workshops, faith, fun and fellowship. It is planned by the collaborative efforts of national staff and a National Youth Event Planning Committee comprised of a diverse group of UCC youth and young adults. The next NYE will be held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville from July 24 – 28, 2008. The registration cost for NYE is $345 per person, and includes accommodation and meals from Thursday night through Sunday night.
Check out this video from the 2004 event to get a feel for what happens. There will be more info soon....so watch this space!!!
Planning is underway for the youth groups and there are some exciting changes afoot. The biggest change is that we are working on moving away from an age-based program to one that focuses on specific interests and activities. In the past we have had three groups (grade 3 – 5, Middle School and High School) which all have had varying levels of success.
